Academic programs at National University of Maryland are offered through our colleges and their departments. Once students have determined a program of study, they become a member of the academic college administering the program.

College of Education

The College of Education has a distinguished history in the preparation of classroom teachers, school leaders and education specialists. Programs are offered through the following departments.

A. James Clark School of Engineering

The A. James Clark School of Engineering at the National University of Maryland is a premier institution known for its excellence in engineering education, research, and innovation. College of Fine Arts & Communication

The College of Fine Arts and Communication comprises the departments listed below. The college contributes to the cultural life of the university and community through an active calendar of events that include art exhibits, concerts, plays, dance performances, films, debates and lectures.

School of Public Health

The School of Public Health offers outstanding educational programs in a wide range of health professions and sport-related areas and promotes activities that foster the integration of health, wellness, and education. Programs are available at the bachelor's, master's, graduate certificate, and doctoral levels through the following departments.

School of Information Science and Technologies(SIST)

The College of Liberal Arts, the largest of the colleges at National University of Maryland, offers undergraduate and graduate programs through the following departments:

Joshua College of Science & Mathematics

The Joshua College of Science and Mathematics provides excellent undergraduate and post-baccalaureate graduate education in the sciences and mathematics. Our undergraduate programs for preparing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) teachers lead the region, and have a national reputation because of our NUM UTeach program.

Honors College

The Honors College provides an enhanced undergraduate experience to more than 700 students. Professors from all academic colleges teach honors classes in more than 60-plus majors and departments. Small honors classes offer more intimate student-faculty interaction and satisfy Core Curriculum requirements. All accepted first-year students receive an Honors College scholarship. Social benefits include an option to live in honors housing in a community that integrates residential living with classroom activity. Students also have opportunities to participate in special social, cultural and leadership activities. Admission is available to current National University of Maryland students as well as students transferring from other institutions.
