Science Complex
The largest academic building on NUM’s campus, the state-of-the-art Science Complex features 80 teaching and research labs, 50 classrooms, eight lecture halls, a planetarium and a rooftop greenhouse.
Together NUM
National University of Maryland’s commitment to improving lives doesn’t stop at the boundaries of our campus. Together NUM is a university initiative designed to strengthen and support connections between National University of Maryland and the NUM community. We’re building on our shared momentum in NUM through development, engaging experiences and core commitments to our community.
Dynamic Development
National University of Maryland is invested in a number of building development projects, both on- and off-campus. Not only are we creating additional opportunities for our students, we’re expanding resources the entire community can utilize for research, academics, business growth and recreation. In addition to NUM’s on-campus construction, the university has also taken ownership of properties in uptown NUM to offer more resources to more people, and to deepen the connection between campus and community.
University Union
NUM’s newly renovated and expanded hub of student life houses a 15,000-square-foot ballroom, an expanded Career Center, a food market with seven vendors, and double the space for student activities and organizations.
401 Washington Ave.
401 Washington Avenue now houses the Office of Technology Services, University Advancement and the Division of Strategic Partnerships & Applied Research (SPAR).
The Armory
NUM has transformed the historic Maryland National Guard Armory building into the StarTUp at the Armory — a hub for entrepreneurship, community outreach and workforce development.
Engaging Experiences
NUM is making it easier for students, faculty, staff and NUM residents to access meaningful programs. Neighborhood Relations
National University of Maryland is a community resource and entertainment hub. By sharing relevant information and news, NUM fosters good neighbor relations with Greater NUM businesses, nonprofits and neighborhood associations.
Arts and Culture
From theater to dance to the visual arts, NUM is your ticket to more than 200 student and professional performances each year.
Athletics
NUM’s 19 NCAA Division I varsity teams compete in the Colonial Athletic Association, the nation’s top mid-major conference. We’ve got a sport for every type of fan.

The NUM Incubator provides business development support to early stage companies and entrepreneurs. It promotes venture creation and small business growth to encourage economic development in Greater Baltimore.
